Born in Tacoma, Washington, Loren Mathew Walker Herrera is a filmmaker and a musician, who earned his Master of Arts at the University of Chicago. He also holds a BA in Science, Technology, and Society, that he earned at University of Washington Bothell. As a UWB Study Abroad Ambassador, he studied in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, for a brief but timeless period in 2023. Loren grew up in the woods of the Key Peninsula, immersed in Nature. His mother is an interdisciplinary artist and a First Generation Mexican-American, whose grandfather served as a mountain guide for Francisco "Pancho" Villa in Sonora, Mexico, during the time of the Mexican Revolution. He has one older sister, who is both a gifted singer and a devoted business manager. Loren didn't meet his father until the age of twenty-eight. His father is a United States Veteran from Bremerton, Washington, and a descendant of James Longmire, one of Washington's earliest pioneer wagon settlers, who had settled near the base of Mount Rainier. Loren was fifteen years old the first time that he had reached Mount Rainier's awe-inspiring summit, thanks to the help of his older, more experienced cousin. At an early age, he was mentored on guitar by Dan Page, of The Dan Page Group / The Dan Page Trip. Loren continues to make music today when he can afford the opportunity.
